*STARS* at the Whalom Playhouse 1960-1965

Everyone remembers going to the Playhouse at least once at Whalom Park. But who can remember all of the famous * S T A R S * who came to Lunenburg Massachusetts to entertain us?






Shown in the photo below are 7 programs from Guy Palmerton's Lake Whalom Playhouse Theatre featuring the major stars who received top billing on the summer theatre circuit. The programs measure 6" x 9". Ticket stubs are shown taped or stapled to the covers. Can you name them?.

In order of appearance are the following:




  1. STRICTLY DISHONORABLE : 1963 Starring Cesar Romero, Linda Fields, Lawrence Pressman, Leopold Badia, and Walter Flanagan. The back pictured Tab Hunter.






  2. SUSAN SLEPT HERE : 1963 Starring Don DeFore, Sandra Church, Shirley Matson, Stratton Walling, Joe Hardy, Bruce Brighton, Geraldine Hanning, and Fran Bennett. The back pictured Gloria Swanson.





  3. GOODBYE CHARLIE : 1960 Starring Eve Arden, Brooks West, Donna Pearson, Frank Roberts, Charles Welch, Gail Cramer, and Michael McAloney. The back advertised Tobacco Road.





  4. MY FAIR LADY : 1964 Starring Craig Timberlake, Dran Seutz, Angus Cairns, Humphrey Davis, Eleanor Phelps, Lois Holmes, Houston Allred, and Ben Reed. The back pictured Imogene Coca.





  5. A RAINY DAY IN NEWARK : 1964 Starring Imogene Coca, King Donovan, Gaylord Mason, Gertrude Kinnell, Barton Stone, John O'Leary and John Schuck. The back pictured Genevieve.





  6. FOR LOVE OR MONEY : 1964 Starring Genevieve, Donald Woods, Ruth Manning, Janet Fox, Alice Yourman, Leo Lucker, Don Dickenson, and Peter Coffin. The back pictured Merv Griffin.





  7. CAMELOT : 1965 Starring Robert Peterson, Peggy Robbins, Rene Miville, Alexander Clark, Brendan Burke, and Bill Story. The back pictured Dennis O'Keefe.
